click to learn about all facts on Celiac [Coeliac] Disease
Yesterday new information was released on research that tells us “scientists have visualised an interaction between gluten and T-cells of the immune system”. They have started to scratch the surface of the surface on the topic.
The disease is barely understood and yet the drug for it is already patented and in the works …which begs the question “how”. How do you test a drug for a disease scientists don’t understand yet?
We’ll skip that que$tion.
Also interesting to note is that it is targeted at the DQ2 gene only. Someone with Celiac [Coeliac] Disease has one or both genes: DQ2 and/or DQ8. However the majority of those diagnosed have no idea which because most are diagnosed through blood test and biopsy.
Biopsy only measures the level of damage to the intestines, it does not test genetically – so the patient wouldn’t know which gene/s they have and neither would their doctor.
And yet what do you want to bet that as soon as this Nexvax2® is approved every doctor in the world will be prescribing it to their patients. Even if it was effective in any way, it wouldn’t work for those with the DQ8 gene – and yet no one will make that distinction in the excitement of pulling the prescription pad out.
The Celiac [Coeliac] will happily take the drug and return to eating gluten and believe life has returned to “normal”.
Since most don’t show outward symptoms, it will all seem great until they realize they are now dealing with a bigger problem than what they started with. But have no fear, the pharmaceutical industry is no doubt already working on the drug to patch up the effects of this drug… and the circle of pharma-life continues…
I can’t stress this enough: it’s not enough to just go gluten free (know that the “certified” stuff on the shelves are not all gluten free). You have to understand this thing completely so you can avoid the pitfalls.
Arm yourself with the proper knowledge and you can easily live a fantastically healthy life
